the WU BRIGHT SPIKES SCHOLARSHIP AND AWARDS
The WU© “Bright Spikes” Awards is a scholarship and school support initiative by GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS) - the agent of Western Union in Jamaica, to student track and field athletes with good GPAs, who have a parent or financial supporter, legally residing in the US, Canada and/or select Caribbean countries.

Prizes & awards
Awards will be presented to students and schools on CHAMPS Friday, March 27, 2020.
The students will get a scholarship valued at $100,000 to pay for education expenses.
The school will get $150,000 for their track programme.
There will be three winners selected, one per county.
Do I Qualify?

Must be a student-athlete on a team participating at the 2020 ISSA GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletic Championships.

Student must be attaining over 60 per cent average or highest GPA on team.

Student must have parent(s), relative(s) or financial supporter who is a legal resident in the United States of America; Canada or GKMS Caribbean territory - (Anguilla, The Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, The Cayman Islands, Guyana, St. Kitts and Nevis, Montserrat, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos) - who sends money back to Jamaica via Western Union.
How to enter

To enter student must collect an entry form from their school’s guidance counsellor or download the form from the GKMSONLINE website – www.gkmsonline.com.

Student must submit an application form and a 450 to 500-word essay to the school’s guidance counselor by February 28, 2020 and their last school year’s report which will form part of the selection criteria.

GKMS will collect entry forms from ISSA on March 2, 2020.

GKMS will vet entries and a panel selects the finalists by March 6, 2020.
